Friends of Shenstone Tower have had another very successful year. We have opened on the first Saturday morning of the month, and during the summer on the 3rd Sunday afternoon of the month; and also the key is available from Shenstone Library. We have now recorded more than 3,000 visitors.
We continue to welcome and open for visiting groups at a time that suits them. These include youth groups, family groups and community groups.
We also joined in St John’s church family fun afternoon on Monday 5th May, with the highlight of bringing your Teddy to zip wire down from the top of the Tower. Thank you to the hard work of all involved in making the zip wire work so well.
I would like to thank Shenstone Parish Council for their grant towards the installation of the platform seat on top of the Tower which enables young children to see the view safely and us older folk to have a sit down after climbing to the top.
Perhaps the most important part of this is that we have put the Tower in good repair so that it will survive for future generations.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers who make all of this possible.
